Several walks have been set up by club members as Permanent Trails which may be walked at any time and attract IVV stamps.  Brief details of the Trails, and distances, are given below. Route descriptions may be found by following the links from Walks above. Walkers requiring IVV stamps are requested to download an Entry Form and forwarded completed form, appropriate fee, cards and SAE to the walk organiser. Walkers who do not participate in the IVV award scheme are welcome to go out and enjoy the walks and countryside.


Stonehenge Walk, 17km, starts from Amesbury and is mainly on footpaths giving good views of the famous monument.

Old Sarum Challenge.  40km walk from Amesbury which follows footpaths to Old Sarum giving good views across Salisbury to the famous Cathedral spire.  The return route crosses the beautiful Woodford Valley.

Romsey Circular Walk, 11kms, goes around the historical town and surrounding countryside.

Mount Batten Trail, 14km, walk starting near Plymouth and using part of the South West Coast Path.

Mount Edgcumbe Trail, 11km walk starting at the Country Park near Plymouth, just across the Tamar in Cornwall, is on undulating footpaths along the coast giving excellent views across Plymouth Sound.

Winchester City Heritage Trail, 13km walk around the town and surrounding countryside of the old capital of England.

Two Chapels Trail, 15km walk on footpaths around the grounds of Killerton House, near Exeter.

City of Salisbury Trail, 11km walk in and around the historical City.

City of Bath Heritage Walk, 13km walk around all the sights of the the ancient City.

Ludlow Trail, 10km route around the historic and picturesque town.

Hereford City Trail, 13km, walk visiting the historical sites of the town.

City of Bristol Trail, 12km walk featuring some of Brunel’s engineering influences.

Old Churches of the North Downs, 13km, from Guildford visiting St Martha and St Catherine churches on the North Downs.

Kyra’s Trail, 21km, over the South Downs from Duncton, nr Petworth in Sussex.

Exeter City & Waterways Trail, 10km around the historic Devon city.

Calne Bowood Trail, 13km. From the town out onto footpaths and lanes before returning back to town.

Southampton City Waterfront and Heritage Trail, 12km.  A walk around the City taking in many historical sites as well as along the pier with views across the Docks.

Avebury Prehistoric Trail, 10km.  A mainly rural walk around some of the famous prehistoric sites in the area.

Storm’s Trail, 11km. over the South Downs from Duncton, nr Petworth in Sussex.

Great Yarmouth Heritage Trail, 11km. A town and seafront walk around the historical town.

City of Norwich PT, 11km. Walk around the historic city of Norwich.

Pershore Trail, 10km. A walk along the Avon and visiting Pershore Abbey and Park.

Montacute & Ham Hill. 13km. A rural walk from the NT property.

New Forest Brockenhurst Trail 5/10km. A circular walk around the outskirts of Brockenhurst.

Wilton & Great Bedwyn Trail: A 10km walk visiting a Victorian Windmill.

Dorchester Hardy & Barnes Trail - 12km walk in and around the county town.

Lepe Loop & D Day Memorial Walk - A 10km trail at Exbury, Hampshire with excellent views of the Solent.

Isle of Wight PTs are listed on IOW Trails page. There are 7 walks ranging from 10km to 116km in length.

Armistice Trails PTs are listed on Armistice Trails page. There are 4 walks which are all 11 km in length. 3 are in the south of England, and 1 is in Cumbria.
